GT Academy mini-GT5 stand-alone game available for free
For a limited time, the 3 GBytes file is waiting for GT Academy contenders on PlayStation Store (search for "Academy"), but also on almost all other PS3 players around the world. Some cars can be won for GT5 main game.
During 8 weeks (until 2012 June 25th), GT Academy competition will serve players with exclusive, solo and selective events through a dedicated racing game - which run with the Gran Turismo 5 graphic and physic engines. At the end of the last round - one per week - 16 players will emerge to continue selections beyond the game and ultimately drive a real race car during a real endurance race (Dubai 2013 24 Hours event). For most of us, it is the opportunity to have more GT5 events for a while and to fight for its country (the game displays live global rankings), or to drive a few GT5 cars for free. Also, completing a round will transfert the car (as the Nissan Leag G for the first one) to the GT5 player savegame, once the main GT5 game will get a patch !
The events are licence-like but with online ranking.
Here's the list of the four competition groups and their countries where competition is open, but GT Academy 2012 mini-game is available beyond this list:
1: USA
2: Russia
3: Germany
4: France, UK, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, Ireland, Poland, Portugal and Switzerland.
You'll need to free at least 6 GB to install the game on your PS3 as the install process requires to temporarely have both the 3 GB installer and the 3 GB game itself.
